Fresh Connect Bucks County

Rolling Harvest Food Rescue is proud to be a partner in the new Fresh Connect BC, a collaborative free mobile farm market that brings fresh produce directly to under-served residents in Bristol, Ottsville and beyond.

Fresh Connect BC is intended to serve residents who are at 200% of the federal poverty line, enabling them to have access to nutritious food they might otherwise not be able to fit into already- stretched budgets. The program was launched in April of 2017, and has already impacted thousands of our neighbors in need.

This is a true county-wide effort, with Philabundance and Rolling Harvest providing the produce, Bucks County Opportunity Council handling all logistics and transport, St. Mary Medical gifting the refrigerated delivery truck, United Way of Bucks County providing the funding, and Bucks County Community College and the Thompson Organization providing ideal locations for community distribution.

St. Mary Medical and Rolling Harvest also provide weekly Nutrition Education outreach at Fresh Connect, offering tastings of that week’s sample produce, along with recipes, nutrition and cooking tips to ensure that the recipients get the maximum benefit and enjoyment of what we distribute.
