In 2009, Rolling Harvest Founder and Executive Director Cathy Snyder was regularly volunteering at her local food pantry in Lambertville, New Jersey when she took a trip to the New Hope Community Farmers Market to stock up on farm-fresh goods for her family. A light bulb went off.

We live in a county that has much to offer. Rich farmland, comfortable housing, good food and innovative chefs, artisanal ice cream and cheese, tasty meat and beautiful vegetables and fruits. Fortunately, we also have hard-working people who recognize that not everyone in Bucks County can afford to partake in this bounty.

It’s been almost three years since Cathy Snyder, a Lumberville mother of two college-age children, started canvassing Bucks and Hunterdon farms in the massive Ford Excursion that she won, gleaning leftover produce to supplement the too-often lacking pantries and shelters.
