Local Food and Social Justice

Wednesday, November 1, 2017, 7:00 to 8:30 PM

Cathy Snyder, Founder and Executive Director of Rolling Harvest Food Rescue, joins local food and social justice experts at a Food and Social Justice Forum presented by the Bucks County Foodshed Alliance on Wednesday, November 1, 2017, 7:00 – 8:30 pm. Local experts will discuss the new face of hunger, its root causes and innovative approaches to alleviating food-insecurity and food-inequality. Forum is located at Delaware Valley University in the Mandell Science Building, Room 114. 700 E Butler Avenue, Doylestown, PA 18901 (map it).

Expert panelists include:
Cathy Snyder: Founder and Executive Director of Rolling Harvest Food Rescue, connecting our local farmers with neighbors in need.
Tony D’Orazio: Owner of Carversville Farm Foundation, growing organic produce and proteins for donation to our area’s food pantries and soup kitchens.
John Crooke: Owner of Tinicum CSA, pioneered the donation of organically-grown farm shares direct to food-insecure families.
Pastor Vicky Allen: from First United Methodist Church of Fairless Hills, PA, the coordinator of their successful food pantry program
Registration not required. This event is free, but donations are encouraged.

Rolling Harvest Selected as one of the Courier Times/The Intelligencer 2016 Good-Doer Finalists!

The Bucks County Courier Times and The Intelligencer selected Rolling Harvest Food Rescue as one of this year’s 10 Good-Doers finalists. The 10 nonprofit organizations do work to support those in need and to strengthen the community for all of us. The winning organizations will be given the opportunity to work with the newspapers’ team of videographers and video storytellers, and produce a three-minute Public Service Announcement (PSA). In November, the newspapers invited nominations of nonprofit organizations for the 2016 Good-Doers Awards and received more than 100 nominations for 44 individual organizations.
