Since 2010, Rolling Harvest Food Rescue has been delivering donations of fresh products directly from local partnering farms to food pantries and community meal programs serving at-risk, food insecure families in Bucks County, as well as families over the river in Hunderdon and Mercer Counties.

It all began with a simple concept: ensuring that individuals facing food insecurity get the healthy produce they need for a nutritious diet and that local produce would not go to waste. This goal prompted Rolling Harvest Food Rescue’s founder and executive director, Cathy Snyder, to initiate the innovative organization back in 2010.
The Bucks County Courier Times and The Intelligencer selected Rolling Harvest Food Rescue as one of this year’s 10 Good-Doers finalists. The 10 nonprofit organizations do work to support those in need and to strengthen the community for all of us. The winning organizations will be given the opportunity to work with the newspapers’ team of videographers and video storytellers, and produce a three-minute Public Service Announcement (PSA). In November, the newspapers invited nominations of nonprofit organizations for the 2016 Good-Doers Awards and received more than 100 nominations for 44 individual organizations.

Doylestown — The Hattery Stove & Still inside the Doylestown Inn will be the site of a delicious brunch fundraiser and art show to benefit Rolling Harvest Food Rescue, a non-profit that connects local farmers with neighbors in need in Bucks County, PA, as well as Hunterdon and Mercer Counties in NJ. “Abundant Earth” is the brainchild of artist Melissa Matarese and The Doylestown Inn’s Samantha McCarty.
